Mary Malacky Bergeron has lived in Jackson Hole, Wyoming since 1997.
She was born in Warren, Ohio, graduated from high school there, and entered North Carolina State University. Her freshman year she began attending the Brooks Avenue Church of Christ in Raleigh, where she was baptized on October 5, 1975.
She graduated from NCSU with a BS degree in Medical Technology in 1979,
and married Alan S. Bergeron that same year. The couple lived in
Memphis, TN, for four years while Alan earned his Master’s of Theology
degree from Harding Graduate School of Religion. In 1984 the Bergerons began a thirteen-year work with Alan as minister for the Upper Valley Church
of Christ in Quechee, Vermont.
Alan has been the minister for the Jackson Hole Church of Christ since
1997, while Mary has worked in various creative fields. She has
managed high-end women’s clothing stores, decorated homes for
the holidays, tended some spectacular gardens, and, since 2006,
worked for Astoria Fine Art gallery.
Mary has taught numerous children’s and adult women’s Bible classes,
spoken at ladies’ events, and had an article published in Today’s Christian
Woman magazine. She is a sixteen-year breast cancer survivor, and lives
the Jackson Hole outdoor lifestyle as much as possible: hiking, biking,
and skiing with friends (and occasionally sneaking in an Opera, too)!
Alan & Mary have one son, Andrew, who is a 2010 graduate
of Washington University in Saint Louis; he is
currently
living and working in San Diego, CA.
